Celebrating Business

This award is designed to recognise the Business or Individuals who deserve recognition for their significant contribution towards businesses in Malta This choice of this award is in the SME Chambers' President hands and is assessed through his experience and determination of value. 

This award is open to businesses operating in Gozo and is designed to recognize the Best Gozo Business of the Year. The Selection Committee will evaluate businesses holistically, focusing on those that are considered the best or have made the most improvement in one or more of the following areas: business growth and added value, innovation, employee work conditions, support to society, and environmentally friendly measures.

This award is designed to recognize an SME (26 to 250 employees, including the owner) as the champion of the Year. The Selection Committee will be looking for businesses that have made holistic improvements in one or more of the following areas: business growth and added value, innovation, internationalization, digitalization, ESGs, and work-life balance for employees.

This award is designed to recognize a Small Business (up to 25 employees, including the owner) as a champion for the Year. The Selection Committee will be looking for small businesses that have made significant improvements in one or more of the following areas: business growth and added value, innovation, employee work conditions, support to society, and/or ecological sustainability.

This award is designed to recognize a Young Entrepreneur of the Year. The Selection Committee will look for a young entrepreneur who demonstrates exceptional entrepreneurial spirit, provides a fresh outlook on business, and is backed by a high-quality business plan and model. The improvement the business has made from its inception to the present will also be taken into consideration.

This award is designed to recognize a Female Entrepreneur of the Year. The Selection Committee will look for a female business owner who demonstrates exceptional entrepreneurial spirit, provides a fresh outlook on business, and is backed by a high-quality business plan and model. The successful progression of the business and a forward-looking perspective will also be considered.

Family businesses are a cornerstone of Malta’s economic landscape. The Selection Committee will seek a family business that demonstrates an equally balanced commitment and proficient attitude between its family structure and business model. Any specific structures, safeguards, and plans will be considered in the adjudication process.

This award is designed to recognise a Start-up Company to champion for the Year. The Selection Committee will be looking at the businesses that has addressed as many of the following as possible and in the most effective manner: business growth and value added, innovation, employee work condition and/or working environment, support to society, environmental-friendly measures.
